Black Kite by La-Vita-a-Bella Black Kite by La-Vita-a-Bella
Black Kite (Milvus migrans)

I'm not sure why they call them a black kite, since they're brown, but oh well.

This is one of those photos, which really take your breath away! The quality is stunning, as I can see every single feather in the wings of majestic bird of prey. The composition is unusual and it makes me wonder, how did you take this! :D I am not sure if you had the same idea when you posted the photo, but to me, it represents the connection between animal and human world - the one, which is natural and wild and the one, which is modern and technical. The city as a background for the animal is very unusual and interesting: both of them, city and a bird, play important role. Great photo!

Been busy looking at bird pics after watching Eragon again and I just happened to some across your image. This is really quite lovely both the focus and the lighting is spot on. There isn't any drop off in focus on the kite. Its something that you sometimes get when you try to photograph something moving fast.

200 mm? It must have been pretty close - or is that a crop? Anyway, it's a wonderful capture  :+fav:
