Located in the heart of the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, the Multnomah Falls Lodge was built in 1925.

In the background, the 620ft waterfall plumets from Larch mountain. It is the second highest year-round waterfall in the nation.

What a wonderful appeal this photo has! The lighting and colouring, together with the lit up windows all make this look very welcoming, and I'd love to go in there for an evening meal (do they do that??).

The autumn colours add to the welcoming warmth and bring a nice contrast to the grey hues of the rocks and the falls behind. (I can imagine the sound of those falls when lying in bed at night.)

I like the framing of this picture as the eye is led from the right-hand foliage across to the central windows, taking in the beautiful textures of the stone walling and a glimpse of an upper lit room partly hidden by the tree on the way, then towards the lamp towards the left, on into the colourful foliage on the far left and upwards and around to take in the rocks and falls above. In fact it seems to me that in every sense of the word, you have obeyed all the rules of the thirds, both from right to left and from above to below! Amazing really how this works so well!!!

The reflections in the wet foreground also add that vitality to the photo that would have very much been missing without them. The perspective is also excellent!

There's nothing I'd wish to do to alter this photo, as there's nothing I can see to criticise! Wonderful work!

That's beautiful!

See that right there is a good reason to come to your garage sale, it gets me closer to that.
I love this, I've never seen this view of the falls before.

You'd be 3 hours past my garage sale for this view, but it'd be worth it. :)
I lucked out with not having any people in my shot...this is one of the busiest spots I've ever been...but pouring down rain and it being a bit dark helped chase them away. :w00t:

This is just stunning, what a beautiful place to stay. Those falls in the distant background look amazing! Are they the ones which flow under a bridge?
:iconpaulgana:
wow, what a place, I have never seen a photo from the falls from this location before
:iconla-vita-a-bella:
Thank you. Yes, it is the same one with the bridge.
