Yeah, I always thought the red was a cool look. Unfortunately, I don't have that camera anymore so there won't be more of this type. :hmm:

The contrast is fabulous. I bet you have an idea of how the art will look, even before you take the picture, yes?

Thank you. With infrared it is always hard to know exactly how it will turn out once it is processed, but you do get a feel for it after awhile. :)

can you shoot video like this?

No, not with that camera and filter. Too dark. But my current camera that I'm using for infrared can shoot usable video, but it can't be processed like you would a photo so it wouldn't look very good.

Ah, thanks! It's an older shot done with a camera I no longer own. Not my best work, but it's definitely different. :hmm:

Agreed, not your best - it does look like 'early/starting out' IR work and yes you could pick holes in it (like the hotspot in the middle :P) But... for sheer dramatic imapact its fantastic

Well, I wasn't going to point out the hot-spot because I was hoping you weren't aware of what those are. :giggle:
Ya wanna know something funny? One of the best IR shots I ever took was pretty much the best one I ever took. [link] And it was taken with a point-n-shoot.

Not aware of hotspots :lmao: ur kidding right? :D
(ever tried using a Sigma 10-20 for IR? Thats what u call hotspots )

That is my fav IR of yours  I've never tried using a p n' shoot myself but i've always fancied getting one - they do create some great colours compared to DSLR's.

I took my first shots with a Nikon D50 and quickly got a D70 which a lot of people were using at the time. I've since had a D80 converted at Lifepixel so i suspose thats a point n shoot now really though i still like to use the D70 with filters :)

Well, maybe if you were 12 and didn't know much about photography, then I could get those hot spots past ya. :giggle:
I have tried IR with my Canon 5DII but the foliage doesn't come out white, so I'm guessing it's not very sensitive to IR light. I did this shot with it [link] and it looks okay, but not very IR.
I am currently using a converted Sony DSC-W50. It's a 6.0MP point-n-shoot, which works well for me since I'm already lugging around the 5DII so I don't really have room in my bag for another DSLR.

how do you get this combination of blue and red? is it in editing, or do you have an IR converted camera or something?

huh! I have the Canon 20D and I always thought Canon put an IR shield on all their sensors...

Sop you think just an IR filter will do the job for it (20D)?

Here's some info [link] I looked up on the 20D, although I'd recommend doing more research so you get a broader range of information. In other words, don't take one person's word for anything.

It actually doesn't handle IR as well as my Canon Powershot S3 IS does. With the XTi, I'm getting hot spots. I tried using my eyepiece cover, but that didn't remedy the problem.
