Yes, my images are very similar to that when I first start out. If you download Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 (free version) you can click on "Levels Auto Fix" and it will change the colors for you. If you want to further tweak the colors, adjust the hue wheel.
I am using a camera that is converted internally so I can do handheld shots even on a cloudy day.

I'm doing my editing in Photoshop, but haven't tried Auto Levels on IR so I don't know if it gives good results, I will try this free software too.

If you are using Photoshop, there are many tutorials out there to show you how to edit your IR photos. Usually you start with a white balance adjustment and then you swap the red and blue channels. I use the other program because I don't have Photoshop.
