***EDIT****
I got a note from my dad this morning saying, "I love all of the reviews. People were so kind on their reviews. Thank you for posting it."

I just wanted to thank all of you for the comments and fav's on his picture.  You really made his day!  My dad has cancer and doesn't get to get out of the house much, so little things like this really brighten his world!  Thank you again for your support!!! :glomp:

**end edit***

I called my dad last night to beat the Father's Day rush.  We talked for 2 1/2 hours, which is a common length of a conversation with him.  I think everyone on my dad's side of the family is long-winded.  Most of the Cobleigh's are story-tellers.  My dad, however, is not much for telling stories.  We usually chat about his dogs, what he's recently purchased, camera stuff that we'd like to buy, searching the internet together for random things that have come up in conversation, and whatnot.  The dogs constantly interrupt our conversation.  I fondly refer to his three German Shepherd's as "the hell hounds" because, when you knock on the door, you feel like you've knocked on the gates of hell. lol!

Last night I mentioned to him that many times I have wanted to post his photo of Yosemite on this site, but that it's not mine to be putting up.  He gave me permission so I went ahead and posted it earlier today.  He took the picture when I was only 5 years old....before I'd ever even picked up a camera.

Yosemite 1975

I can't remember when I got my first camera, but I remember that it needed 110 film.  My subject matter was usually my vast model horse collection, my favorite teddy bear, my Lincoln Log creations, and all my friends at school.  None of those pictures showed any promise of a budding photographer.  I had no creativity or technique.  I just pointed and pressed the button at things I liked.  Ahhhh, the good ol' days! lol!

My aunt has told me that my great grandmother was also into photography.  She would take pictures, develop them at night, and sell the photos to neighbors in postcard format so they could mail them to relatives.  I haven't ever seen any of her photographs, but it sure would be interesting to see her work.

My uncle is also into photography.  He's one of the few people that can talk completely over my head.  Most of his emails border on book-length and usually require looking up a word or two. :giggle:

And now for a feature....it's been so long since I've done one!
